Watching this video with the music is so amazing how NASA scientists all came together as one and built this incredible machine. Just amazing!! And knowing that this thing of beauty will be making that long trip to Mars all along to bring back some answers we been wondering like what's up there? Good work NASA!!

The saddest part is this won't be used for anything but recon for the rover. They could have made something to explore a much larger area by air and have it do basically everything the rover does, even if only on a smaller scale, it could have covered more ground. This thing can cover more ground in a few minutes than the rover will in its entire usable life. They could have also made them pair together and allowed the rover to charge it and vice versa, which would allow it to help top up the batteries of the rover when not in use. Could have sent a dozen of these with it and have them all collectively power the rover when its power source runs out. They could have done soo much more with it, for barely extra work. But all it does is path find for the rover.

Hello JPL team, I am looking forward to watching videos between the rover and the hover (helicopter), when she takes off. I am not sure if anyone from your amazing JP engineering team would be interested in a comment from a software engineer / solution architect /musician, although I have been programming computers for 37 years in this reality. My questions have likely been debated already. I have recently learned that about 2/3 of the flying device's battery would be used to keep it warm. In a future version of the descent stage drone, would it be possible to have its peer, like the rover Percy (as I imagine you call Perseverance), to help it charge back up or keep it warm during the cold nights and winters? The rover seems to be able to have more charging power potential. Adittionaly a third device, a stationary module with the purpose of being a charging station, as well as a metereologic, comms, and geo-location stations could be added to the equation? Could the descent stage drone be somehow resused for that purpose? Would it be possible adding to that potential charging module or even to the rover itself a feature for flipping the solar panels in a way that most surface dust would fall down, so as to avoid what supposedly happened to Oppy, for example? Would it be worth it to have swappable batteries and wheels to improve the life span of rovers? What is the nickname for the "helicopter", the very first space self-flying device ever? I must stop here. Are there any job openings for a daydreamer role at JPL? :) I could do this all day :)
